Laurent Jammes is Co-Founder of YBL Consulting, Actys-BEE and Associate Director of ENEA Consulting. Laurent is an expert in New Energy Technologies for the energy transition (Marine Renewable Energy; Hydrogen; CO2 Capture and Storage; Energy storage; Geothermal, etc.), and is conducting research on the social acceptability of these technologies. Laurent is a member of several evaluation committees for research programs on “safe, clean and efficient energy” (France) and “CO2 Capture and Storage” (EU, Germany). Previously, he has been working for 23 years with Schlumberger, a multinational service company of the Oil & Gas sector, in various R&D positions in France and China.
Laurent has given many short courses and lectures to Utilities, Oil & Gas companies and governmental agencies. He is teaching at the Earth Physics Institute of Paris (Oil & Gas) and at the University of Caen Basse- Normandy (Energy & Society). He has a PhD in physics, an Engineering diploma from Ecole Centrale de Paris and a Master in Psychology. Laurent is a member of SPE.
Wan Bing is Co-founder of YBL Consulting. Bing is a passionate business professional and an independent researcher on climate change. He has 15 years of professional experience covering multiple industries in China, Germany, the US, the UK and the Middle East. In particular, he has a solid record of managing projects with a top management and strategy consulting firm in Europe. In 2010, he received the German Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation with the research topic on global CO2 emission methodologies. An active field practitioner, he has been invited to numerous conferences such as the 5th Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting on Economic Sciences, the EU-China Mayors’ Forum in Beijing and Wuhan-Bordeaux Mayors’ Workshop on Carbon balance (bilan carbone).
Bing holds an MBA from University of Cambridge. In his spare time, Bing is an active volunteer for community services, especially for the cause of children’s rights protection. In 2014, he received the Global Childhood Award 2014 presented by H. M. Queen Silvia of Sweden, for the best ‘Big Idea to Help the Small People’.
Vincent Bricout is a partner at YBL-Consulting. He has been a consultant since 2007 and has assisted many clients in the energy (Oil & Gas, coal, solar, fuel cells and CCS), chemical, petrochemical, pharma, automotive, air and rail transport industries in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. He is also a senior advisor for Actys-BEE in Paris.
Vincent also has expertise in the management of large and complex projects in various sectors of energy, the environment and energy transition. He has developed expertise in technology and innovation management. Vincent joined Schlumberger in 1998 where he managed R&D projects and later real-time operation support software products. He joined Arthur D. Little in Dubai in 2007 then in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong in 2013.
Vincent earned an engineering degree from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, a PhD from Cornell University near New York City and an MBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.
Jordan McRae is senior consultant for YBL Consulting and President and Founder of Octo23 Technologies. Jordan began his engineering career with Lockheed Martin Space Systems as an Algorithms Engineer on a distributed space robotics platform. In 2008, Jordan created his invention firm Octo23 Technologies dedicated to the new invention of technologies in the areas of clean energy, clean water, and ocean conservation. In the same year, he moved to Hong Kong to establish an R&D facility for Octo23’s first spinoff company, Humdinger Wind Energy. As Humdinger’s Lead Aerospace Engineer Jordan led the research and design of the Windcell Panel, a modular non-turbine wind energy generator. Currently, under Jordan’s direction Octo23 is focused on the development of “Living Laboratories”, a new platform for Smart, Clean, and Liveable cities using large networks of distributed connected objects.
Jordan received his B.S. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his M.S. at Stanford University, both in the field of Aeronautical / Astronautical Engineering with a focus in Robotics.
Romain Provost is senior advisor for YBL Consulting. Romain is an expert in business strategy, organizational transformation and innovation in the Energy sector. He has a thirty years industrial background at managerial, executive and operational responsibilities internationally; he served large technological and innovative companies in the sectors of Energy, Oil & Gas, Project Engineering and Process Automation.
Romain has developed a specific expertise on the deployment of new economic and industrial models to achieve a successful transition towards sustainable energy. Having a strong sense of values, strategic thinking, as well as operational mindset and intercultural dialog, he is particularly interested in issues related to the development of intelligent infrastructure as a factor in an effective and sustainable industrial transformation.
Graduate Engineer and graduate in Economics, Romain started his career as scientific “attaché” at the French embassy in Cairo. In 1983, he joined the Alstom / Cegelec company, where he held several operational responsibilities as Project Manager, Engineering Director at Alstom T & D, and finally CEO of the SE Asia & Indonesian subsidiary at Alstom Contracting. In 2001, he participated in the LBO Cegelec as Vice-President of the large international project unit, before joining, from 2007 to 2012, Invensys (an Anglo-Saxon Company leader in process automation) as vice-president managing director Southern Europe and Africa. During these five years he was also a director of GEP-AFTP (the syndicate of French Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Companies). Romain Provost is a member of several professional associations and think tanks on economic and industrial developments in our society and on “the city of tomorrow”.
Bob Pegler is senior advisor for ybl-consulting and Managing Director of BBB Energy Pty Ltd – a leading edge provider of independent advisory services working on a wide range of policy and technical issues including ‘clean energy’ technologies (with specialist carbon capture and storage (CCS) expertise), as well as broader industry, environmental and innovation policy matters. His experience combines recent high-level private enterprise expertise with extensive public sector knowledge.
With BBB Energy Bob has undertaken a diverse range of projects for a number of organisations including the Global CCS Institute, the International Energy Agency (IEA), TNO (The Netherlands R&D Organisation), and the British Geological Survey, addressing a variety of energy, environmental and sustainability issues. His work has included development of government policy frameworks in relation to the future role of gas and the deployment of CCS.
Bob was before the General Manager – Europe for the Global CCS Institute from 2009 until 2012. In this role he focused on the development of optimal conditions to drive CCS development. His work at the Institute followed an illustrious career in the Australian Public Service spanning more than 30 years, which included work in resources and energy, industry, finance and environment. He represented the Australia Government at both national and international levels. For the past 15 years, Bob has worked on issues as diverse as competitiveness, globalisation and market access, resource development, energy markets, and drivers of industry growth. He has wide experience across policy issues and their integration with broader economic frameworks.
Emmanuel Julien is senior advisor for YBL consulting. He is co-founder and CEO of Actys-BEE since the company was created in 2011. Since 2012 Emmanuel is also general manager ENEA, a consultancy company in the field of energy transition and sustainable development.
Emmanuel Julien joined the Air Liquide Group in 1988 as a research engineer. He then turned into an operational career with increasing responsibilities within the main European subsidiary of the group, in the areas of production, internal sales, energy procurement, operations control and strategic planning.
In 2003 he became Industrial Director, worldwide. In 2006 he was appointed Vice President in charge of the Engineering business unit (€ 900 million sales, 2,000 engineers and technicians working in five centres based in Europe, USA, India, Japan and China). He was then Chairman and Board member of several subsidiaries of the Air Liquide Group.
Emmanuel works on the strategic positioning of industrial companies in the field of energy, using his experience in management and his deep knowledge of the economic and technical aspects of traditional and renewable energies.
Emmanuel Julien is Engineer by training and an Independent Certified Company Board member. He is participating to several business think tanks aiming at re-inventing the positioning of companies in the society.
Sébastien Manganneau is advisor for YBL consulting. He is the founder and CEO of ENERGIES PROJECT SERVICES, a company that provides support for project implementation and management, at all development stages (from the economic feasibility assessment to the commissioning of infrastructures and the supervision of operations).
Sébastien has deep expertise in hydrogen mobility and in the management of large and complex projects, in different energy-related fields. He is actually involved in the deployment of hydrogen mobility infrastructure deployment projects. Sébastien started his career in 1998 in TOTAL E&P managing projects in different countries and in different environments (Iran, Angola, Norway). In 2007, he moved to Air Liquide to structure one of the largest projects related to hydrogen technology in France. Since 2010, he works through his own company, ENERGIES PROJECT SERVICES, which provides expertise to different customers in the field of energy project management.
Sébastien received a M.S. at Ecole Polytechnique in France, and a M.S. in Oil and Gas development at IFP School.
